JAMMU, Mar 1: Advocate Abhinav Sharma, Spokesperson BJP J&K today claimed that `Operation Ganga’, launched by the Indian Government to bring back Indians stranded in Ukraine, is first of its kind in the history of the country.
In a statement issued to media persons, here on Tuesday, Advocate Abhinav said unlike other countries including US, UK and China, which have abandoned their missions to evacuate citizens expressing inability, India has emboldened stand by engaging four senior Union Ministers including Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju and General VK Singh to coordinate and expedite the evacuation process from the borders surrounding Ukraine.
“These ministers will act as special envoys of the PM Modi to Ukraine’s neighbouring countries to oversee the evacuation of Indians”, Sharma said, adding that from today onwards PM has also called the Indian Air Force to join the evacuation efforts under Operation Ganga.
“Leveraging the capabilities of the IAF will ensure that more people can be evacuated in the shortest possible time and for this Indian Air Force is likely to deploy several C-17 aircrafts as part of Operation Ganga”, BJP Spokesperson said, adding that these aircrafts had also helped considerably to evacuate citizens from Afghanistan with one sortie carrying 670 passengers, which is a world record.
Abhinav said that the unprecedented move by Modi Government will be written in the history of the country with golden words because when all other countries have given up, the Indian Government has intensified the evacuation process by deputing four senior ministers and by also asking the dexterous Indian Air Force to join the endeavour and accomplish the job in shortest possible time.
He lauded the strong resolve of PM Modi in envisaging the rescue plan in a failsafe manner with no scope of failure or any kind of bottleneck hindering the operation Ganga.
