At the end of every prayer during the day, the Holy Relic of the Prophet was displayed to the devotees, during which emotionally high scenes were witnessed.
Throughout the day, a huge rush of people was witnessed at the shrine along the banks of Dal lake, particularly during the morning and evening prayers when people were seen praying for the peace prosperity of humanity across the globe.
Officials of the Wakf Board told Excelsior that people in good numbers participated in the prayers and that the Holy Relic will be displayed to the people on Wednesday well.
“There is no display on the Holy Relic on Thursday. However, the same will be repeated on Friday and we are expecting more people to reach here, resulting in huge congregational prayers on the day,” the officials said.
Detailed arrangements were put in place to facilitate the participation of people in the prayers on the occasion even as special buses were also made available from different routes for the convenience of devotees.
Officials said that a similar arrangement will also remain in place on Friday as they are expecting a large gathering on the occasion as well. Apart from Dargah Hazratbal, several other shrines and mosques where there are relics of the Prophet witnessed large gatherings throughout the day.
It is to be noted earlier, night-long prayers were also held at Dargah Hazratbal which happened for the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic even as the administration had not imposed any limit on the participation of the people in the prayers.
The devotees on the occasion said that they prayed for the peace to prevail and humanity to prosper while they praised the administration as well as the Health department for putting in place the necessary arrangements and facilitating the participation of people.
