JAMMU, May 31: Expressing solidarity with Safai Karamcharis working in Jammu Municipal Corporation on protest to highlight their genuine demands, JKPCC vice president and former minister Raman Bhalla today joined protest at Kunjwani and appealed LG’s Administration to address their genuine demands on priority as they are true Corona warriors.
He appealed Govt to release their salary timely and provide them other benefits on the pattern of workers of other UTs of the country besides benefit of ESIC medical scheme should be extended to permanent and casual workers as has been done for NGO workers.  Stating that there is shortage of sanitary staff in the field, Bhalla said that there is need to engage more safaikaramcharis if we wish to see clean and green Jammu. He strongly criticized the UT Government for its failure to address the issues of workers and employees of different departments, who are agitating on the roads for their genuine demands.
Bhalla said that the casual workers, daily wagers, consolidated employees, contractual and need based workers and employees of several departments highlighted their demands through protests seeking fulfillment of the commitments and promises by BJP Govt to them while in opposition and after assuming power they are neglected by the Govt instead of resolving their issues. Even they are not being provided even timely salaries and other dues. The unrest amongst the working class is a cause of great concern and the Govt should immediately fulfill the promises and sort out their genuine issues without delay.
He said BJP Government has totally lost its credibility due to its mis-governance, which led to the failure of Government on all the fronts. He said problems like lack of basic amenities, unemployment and inflation in J&K forced the common man to live in miserable conditions. He observed that this regime has antagonized all sections of people whether it is the youth, Government employees, women or even children, this government has hurt every section of the society.
Bhalla regretted that people of the Jammu are back stabbed by BJP leadership as the Party has brazenly abandoned its core agenda and has adopted indifferent approach towards problems of the masses. There is strong resentment among people of Jammu region towards BJP, he added.
