Unidentified body hid in wooden box recovered

JAMMU, Nov 21: The dead body of an unknown man was recovered today from a wooden box abandoned in forest area of Manda.
“The box was spotted this morning around 9 O’ clock in forest area in Manda near naka point of police post Panjtirthi by a local man, who had gone there to collect fire wood,” a police official said.
He said on getting information a police team reached the spot and when the officials opened the box, the dead body of an unknown man of age about 30 years was found wrapped in a blanket inside the box. The official said that a forensic team was called on the spot and after photography/videography of the crime spot, the body was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification/postmortem.
“Apparently it is a murder and the crime has been done about 3-4 days back as the body was emitting foul smell,” Inspector Sunil Sharma, SHO, police station Pacca Danga said. He said that a murder case has been registered in this connection at police station Pacca Danga and further investigation started.
