KATRA, Nov 21: A three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp, sponsored by the DST-NIMAT Project, began today at the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).
Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, Prof Ravindra Kumar Sinha, who formally inaugurated the event, emphasized on the change of mindset of the students for responsible entrepreneurial activities for the development of the nation. He emphasized on imbibing entrepreneurial skills of the youth for the sustainable growth and development of the nation.
Dr Suparn K Sharma, Chief Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, SMVDU, informed about the prominence of such entrepreneurship programs in educational institutions.
To apprise the students of the importance of technology in job creation, Prof Eswaramoorthy Muthusamy, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, urged to harness solar technology in food processing in Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr R K Mishra, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering, motivated the students for entrepreneurship by deliberating the pros of starting own business. The students were guided for values and qualities of good entrepreneurs by Dr Yugal Khajuria, Dean of Students Welfare, SMVDU.
During the function, Dr Saurabh, Head, School of Business, defined entrepreneurship as a way of life by being socially viable, economically feasible and environmentally sustainable.
Earlier, Dr Rashi Taggar conducted the inaugural function while at the end of the program Dr Deepak Jain offered the vote of thanks.
