To press the Government to consider to their demand of creating posts of dental surgeons and filled them through PSC, around 50 unemployed dental surgeons this evening tried to take out a bike rally from Amphalla Chowk to Gole Market (Gandhi Nagar) as announced by them but police foiled their attempt and did not let them go beyond Amphalla Chowk.
Agitated over the arbitrariness of the police, the unemployed dental surgeons assembled in front of the in-gate of IGGDC and locked the gate from outside. They staged a massive protest and raised slogans against the J&K administration for being insensitive to their genuine demand.
Meanwhile, Principal of the College Dr Rakesh K Gupta, Superintendent Dr Girish Gupta and senior police officials including SDPO Rahul Nagar also rushed towards the College gate and tried to pacify the protesting unemployed youth and convince them to unlock the gate but they were adamant not to unlock the gate.
Later, on the assurance of the College Principal that he will take up their demand with the higher authorities, the protesting unemployed dental surgeons unlocked the College gate and dispersed.
