JAMMU, Jan 22: The three-day students talent programme `Udaan’ concluded at Central University of Jammu’ today.
The concluding day witnessed three events; mimicry, skit performance and fancy dress competition. Renowned artist Digvijay Singh Jamwal was adjudicator for the competition.
The skit “Khadda” (Pit) presented by Department of Mass Communication and New Media, portrayed the condition of common masses surrounded by various problems like poverty, unemployment, increasing inflation, drug menace beside others. The artists very well portrayed the message of public unity to strengthen the democratic set up of the country and got big applause from the gathering. The Department of English, staged a play on dowry problem.
The participants of fancy dress competition and mimicry also got appreciation of the gathering in the auditorium hall.
The programme concluded with the announcement of results of all competitions held during the three days. Dean Students Welfare Prof N R Sharma, Heads of Departments and faculty members of various departments graced the occasion.
In Rangoli competition, Department of English teams, bagged all three prizes, while in Poetry recitation, Mohammad Altaf, Damandeep and Seemekha Sadotra were adjudged as first, second, and third winners, respectively.
In live vocal solo competition, Mehak Wazir, Ritika Pathania and Parul Jasrotia were adjudged as first, second and third winners, respectively while in photography, Vanshika Sharma, Ashish and Sushil Kumar were adjudged as first, second and third winners, respectively.
In on the spot painting competition, Gijo Jose, Paranpreet Kour and Sushil Kumar were adjudged first, second and third respectively, while in collage making competition Nirmal Kumari, Sameer Mahajan and Himat Sharma were first, second and third winners, respectively.
In mimicry competition, Sahiba Bashir, Sachin and Rohina Sharma were adjudged as first, second and third while in fancy dress competition, Nazima, Sarika Khan and Preeti Sharma were adjudged as first, second and third winners, respectively.
