JAMMU, Feb 16: Bahu Fort Police arrested two drug peddlers along with heroin and arms.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari laid a naka near Bathindi Morh and signalled a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CD-1822.
On seeing cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but was intercepted after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 5 grams of heroin, one magazine of pistol, 2 live cartridges and one sharp edged weapon from the possession of the two persons travelling in the vehicle and arrested them. During questioning, one 12 bore double barrel Rifle, one cartridge of 12 bore, 2 air gun pistols and one sword were also recovered.
The arrested persons were identified as Yashwant Pathania, son of Yudhvir Pathania of Digiana, District Jammu and Pankaj Bhagat, son of Som Nath Bhagat of Tej Mongor, Lane Number 1 Jalandhar, Punjab, at present Bari Brahmna, District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 51/22 under Section 8/21/25/29 NDPS Act and 3/4/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation set into motion.
