Two killed, 20 injured in mishaps

KATHUA, Dec 17: Two persons were killed while 20 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Samba and Kathua districts since late last night.
According to police a driver of a passenger bus which was on its way from Jammu to Amritsar was killed late last night when the bus bearing number JK02AW 1449 rammed into a shop at Raj Bagh.
The driver of the bus who was identified as Pankaj Kumar of Jammu died on spot while 20 other passengers were injured, police said. All the injured passengers were shifted by police to District Hospital Kathua where 19 were discharged after first aid while one seriously injured passenger was referred to GMC Jammu for treatment.
The body of driver was handed over to family after postmortem today. The Raj Bagh Police has also registered a case in this regard.
In another accident a motorcyclist was killed when his bike bearing number JK02H4206 was hit by a three wheeler bearing number JK21-5231 at S M Pura in Ramgarh tehsil of Samba district today.
The motor cyclist who was rushed to GMC Jammu in a serious condition succumbed to his injuries there later.
He was identified as Vishal Kumar, son of Sham Lal of S M Pura. The auto driver was identified as Charan Dass, son of Rattan Chand.
The Ramgarh Police has arrested the auto driver and police has also seized his three -wheeler. A case under relevant sections of law was also registered against him.
