Two drug peddlers arrested, illegally cultivated cannabis plants destroyed

RAMBAN, Oct 6: Gool Police arrested two drug peddlers, while Ramban Police destroyed illegally cultivated cannabis plants.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Gool led by SHO Inspector Muneer Ahmed laid a naka in Jamman area and intercepted two pedestrians, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 100 grams of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrians and arrested them.
The arrested person were identified as Rizwaan Bilal, son of Mohammad Bilal Malik of Jamman Gool and Tariq Ahmad, son of Abdul Majid Sehmat of Mallan Bathooe, Mahore District Reasi.
During preliminary questioning, the accused confessed that they were illegally transporting the contraband for sale among gullible youth.
A case FIR Number 85/2021 under Section 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gool and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on information through reliable sources that a person namely Dharam Singh, son of Sukh Ram of Balihote has clandestinely and illegally cultivated cannabis in his fields, a case under FIR Number 167/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Ramban.
Acting over the information, a team from Police Station Ramban led by SHO Inspector Sandeep Charak along with concerned Naib-Tehsildar rushed to the spot and destroyed the illegally cultivated cannabis plant. Around, 3 kilograms of cannabis was also recovered from the house of accused.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
