JAMMU, Feb 20: In two separate fire incidents occurred in city outskirts, two men lost their lives.
According to police sources, fire broke out in a thatched hut in Pargwal area at about 1 AM during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. They said the hut gutted in the fire completely before anyone comes to rescue.
“One Ajay Kumar (38) son of Jagatar Lal, who was sleeping in the hut, allegedly in inebriated condition, burnt alive in the fire incident,” sources said, adding, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while Pargwal police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, a man succumbed to his burn injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), here today. As per sources, the man identified as Raj Kumar (40) son of Thoru Ram, resident of Keer Pind (RS Pura), was shifted here at GMCH on February 9 after he suffered about 30 % burn injuries at his residence due to alleged LPG cylinder blast.
“However, the man succumbed to his injuries today at about 1 PM,” the official said, adding, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Miran Sahib police had already taken cognizance of the matter.
