Two-day PG teaching course for Ortho docs concludes at GMC Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 13: A two-day post-graduate teaching course organized under the aegis of Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) concluded today at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
The course was organized by Post-Graduate Department of Orthopaedics, GMC Jammu under the chairmanship of Dr Sanjeev Gupta (Professor & HoD Orthopaedics) and patronship of Dr Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal and Dean of the College. Dr Abdul Ghani (Professor & Head of the Unit), was the organizing secretary of the course while Dr Bias Dev and Dr Muhammad Farooq Bhat were the co-organizing secretaries.
Eminent national faculty graced the occasion with their presence and taught the resident doctors about key clinical and practical aspects of history taking and examination. Many patients were discussed by the Post-Graduate doctors and thorough discussions were carried out among the faculty members regarding their treatment plan.
The star studded national faculty included Dr Lalit Maini (Prof, Department of Orthopaedics, MAMC Delhi & Editor Indian Journal of Orthopaedics), Dr Uday Kumar Boddapalli (member of IOA Indian PG teaching committee from Vishakhapatnam), Dr Harpal Selhi (Prof DMC Ludhiana), Dr Rajesh Gupta (Prof & HoD Orthopaedics, ASCOMS Jammu & member PG teaching committee of IOA), Dr Sarvdeep Singh Dhatt (Prof Orthopaedics, PGIMER Chandigarh), Dr Rajinder Singh (Ex-Prof, GMC Jammu), Dr Rajesh Kapila (Prof and Head, GMC Amritsar), Dr Vipin Sharma (Prof and HoD Orthopaedics, GMC Tanda), Dr Sandeep Kumar (Prof and HoD Orthopaedics HIMSR Delhi).
Around 70 Post-graduate Orthopaedic doctors from Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and J&K participated in the course and learned tips and tricks of treating patients of various Orthopaedic diseases.
Dr Ratnakar Sharma (HoD Surgery, GMC Jammu), Dr ADS Manhas (Medical Superintendent, GMC Jammu) and Dr Kailash Thakur (Consultant Surgery, GMC Jammu) were invited as guests in the course.
