JAMMU, Sept 15: Fourteen Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims were injured, when the bus they were traveling in collided head on with another bus at Ramnagar morh falling under the jurisdiction of Nagrota Police Station.
The accident took place when a bus carrying pilgrims was heading towards Katra and collided with another bus coming from opposite direction near Ramnagar morh, resulting into injuries to fourteen persons.
On getting information, police party from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Parvez Sajjad and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in police and other vehicles, where their condition was stated to be stable, when last reports came in.
The injured have been identified as Navneet (24), Ganesh (25), Suraj (22), residents of Haryana, Jaspal (37), Rakesh residents of Punjab, Tarun Soni (24), Chander Mohan (34), Dinesh (25), residents of Himachal Pradesh, Manoj (35). Resident of Delhi, Saroj (35), Suman (28), Shiv Chander, residents of Uttar Pradesh, Mangal Akhnoor, Muneer Ahmed (17) and Abishek (13), residents of Gorakhpur.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
