Two attacked with sharp edged weapons, people protest

JAMMU, Mar 21: Two persons were attacked today with sharp edged weapons by a group of miscreants in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, one Gurpreet Singh alias Rocky son of Labh Singh and Gurpreet Singh alias Pummy son of Ranjit Singh, both residents of Ward No 4, Simbal Camp, were allegedly attacked with sharp edged weapons by six persons over some old enmity in Miran Sahib.
The spokesman said that the incident happened this morning in which both Rocky and Pummy received serious multiple injuries. He said the accused persons fled from the spot leaving the injured in a pool of blood.
“The injured persons were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where their condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in”, he added.
Meanwhile, locals including victims’ family members staged protest in Miran Sahib demanding arrest of all the accused. The protesting people also blocked the vehicular traffic. Sensing the gravity of the situation, the senior police officers reached the spot and assured the protesting people that all the accused will arrested soon. On their assurance, people dispersed and cleared the road for vehicular traffic.
In this connection a case FIR No 54/16 under Sections 307, 341, 323, 34 RPS and 3/25, 4/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused who have been identified as Dilbagh Singh and Gagandeep Singh, both sons of Janak Singh, resident of Simbal Camp, Jagi and Lucky, both sons of Jagjeet Singh, resident of Simbal Camp, Mohinder Singh son of Ujagar Singh and Jot Singh.
