NEW DELHI : Criticising the notification issued by the RBI last night increasing the cash withdrawal limit in the ATMs, while keeping the weekly limit unchanged, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today said that trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s word has been destroyed in past 50 days. In a tweet, Mr Gandhi demanded that the weekly cash withdrawal limits should be removed. ”Destroyed in the last 50 days: trust in the Prime Minister’s word. Weekly cash withdrawal limits must go,” he tweeted.
In a notification, the RBI increased the daily cash withdrawal limit in the ATMs from Rs 2500 to Rs 4500. It however, kept the weekly withdrawal limit of Rs 24,000 from banks unchanged. In a press conference earlier this week, the Congress leader had demanded that the cash withdrawal limits must be removed after December 30. (AGENCIES)
