Army fully prepared to take on any challenge, says outgoing Chief

NEW DELHI : Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag today said the Army is fully prepared and trained to take on any external or internal challenge.
Addressing media after inspecting a guard of honour presented to him on the last day of his tenure, Gen Suhag saluted those martyrs who made supreme sacrifice in upholding the honour of the nation.
Gen Suhag stepped down as Army Chief after completion of his service. Lt Gen Bipin Rawat will replace him as the new Army Chief. Earlier, Gen Suhag paid tributes at Amar Jawan Jyoti.
During his more than two and half years of tenure, Gen Suhag led the Army to conduct surgical strikes across the Line of Control in Pak Occupied Kashmir to decimate terrorist launch pads.
The outgoing Chief expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his full support and giving free hand in conduct of operations. “The day I took over I promised our response to any action will be more than adequate, immediate and intense,” he further said that the Army delivered on all these counts. “I strongly believe that actions must speak louder than words” (AGENCIES)
