RAMBAN, Apr 4: Police arrested a trucker and his son along with seven kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Ramsoo laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AL-6095, which was plying from Srinagar towards Jammu.
During checking, police team recovered around seven kilograms of poppy straw from the truck and arrested its driver and his son.
The arrested persons were identified as Ravinder Singh, son of Ameer Singh and his son Tanveer Singh, both residents of RS Pura, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 36/2022 under Section 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and the investigation has been set into motion.
Police team led by SHO Ramsoo Inspector Nazir Ahmed made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Nisar Ahmed and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
