NAUP demands waiving off electricity bills

JAMMU, Apr 4: NAUP spokesperson has urged upon the J&K LG administration to lower 50 per cent of the domestic electricity bill in J&K.
In a meeting the NAUP spokesperson said: “As common people faced a lot of hardships due to COVID pandemic in last two years, they are not in a position to pay hefty electricity bills.”
He flayed the authorities for not asking Government departments to pay their pending hefty electricity bills running in lakhs.
“But on the other hand small householders are being threatened for snapping their power connections on account of pending electricity bills,” the spokesperson maintained appealing the administration to provide basic amenities to the public otherwise the public will take an agitational path.
Anil Dev Singh, Uttam Chand and Vijay Kumar Choudhary were also present in the meeting.
