Training progs on use of OS ‘Ubuntu’ organized for judicial officers

JAMMU, May 5: On the instructions of Chief Justice of the State, M M Kumar and Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir, Judge Incharge e-Court committee, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir, the training on “Ubuntu Linux Awareness Cum Training Program under Change Management” for the Judicial officers of Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi district was held here at J&K State Judicial Academy, Jammu. The training program was organized by e-Committee, High court of J&K.
During the training program, Judicial Officers were imparted training on the use of the Ubuntu Operating System (OS) customized by e-Committee, Supreme Court of India, by Master Trainers Kartar Singh and Parvaiz Iqbal.
Similar training programs were also held at High Court Complex Srinagar. The Judicial officers of District Srinagar and Ganderbal participated in the “Ubuntu Linux Awareness Cum Training Program under Change Management” and were provided training by Master Trainers Shahzad Azeem and Shabir Malik.
Khalil Choudhary, Central Project Co-ordinator (e-Courts), High Court of J&K harmonized these “Awareness cum Training Programs” for the Judicial Officers of the State.
While speaking, he said that UBUNTU is a computer operating system based on the Debian Linux distribution and distributed as free and open source software, using its own desktop environment.
Abdul Wahid, Director J&K State Judicial Academy was also present during training at High Court Complex Srinagar whileas Anoop Sharma, Munsiff and Jagdish Thakur were also present during the training session at State Judicial Academy Jammu.
Kiran Kumar Koul Incharge NIC, High Court of J&K at Jammu, Syed Zulfikar Incharge NIC, High Court of J&K at Srinagar and e-Court Technical Staff extended all the technical support in making the program successful.
