Three quakes rock North-East in 30-minute span

GUWAHATI: Three earthquakes rocked North East this afternoon, within a span of 30 minutes.

An earthquake of 5.6 magnitude on the Richter Scale hit Arunachal Pradesh.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the epicentre of the quake was located in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The depth of the quake was 10 km. The tremor, which occurred at around 1452 hrs, was felt in Itanagar. There were no reports of any damages of properties, injuries or loss of life so far.

The three tremors, all epicentred in different districts of Arunachal Pradesh, were preceded by another mild intensity quake in the region last night, which had its epicenter in Assam.

The first of the three tremors felt today was at 1452 hrs, as per the IMD. (AGENCIES)
