Three held in Ring Road Assault Case; firearm, weapons seized

JAMMU, Feb 13: With the arrest of three men, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) claimed to have solved a violent assault case reported near Ring Road, Chatha Gujran, which arose from a car-related dispute that turned into an attack by the armed assailants.
The incident occurred on January 20, 2025, when a physical altercation escalated after a car-related dispute when a group of individuals armed themselves and attacked others.
After the attack, a case under the relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Kanachak and an investigation was started with the help of BPP Gajansoo, under the supervision of local officers, said a police official.
After thorough investigation, he said, the police apprehended three prime accused identified as Mukesh Kumar alias Gesha, a resident of Akhnoor; Ajay Kumar alias Jaggu, from RS Pura; and Surjeet Singh alias Shittu, from Miran Sahib.
During interrogation, police recovered a double-barrel shotgun, three sharp-edged weapons (Tokas), a baseball bat and two bamboo sticks, he said.
The vehicle used in the assault was also seized, added the police official.
