JAMMU, Aug 16: In three separate cases, a 32-year old man died after consuming some poisonous substance while two persons including a young girl made abortive attempts on their lives by consuming some poisonous substances at their respective residences in city outskirts.
A police spokesman said that a man identified as Gagandeep Singh (32) son of Gurcharan Singh, resident of Chatta Farm allegedly consumed some poisonous substance after which he was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu from where he was later taken by the family members to Amritsar but he expired on the way and his body was later shifted to mortuary of GMCH Jammu. After completing medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members.
One Ajay Kumar (18) son of Tara Chand, resident of Badyal Qazian consumed some poisonous substance on August 15 at his residence. He was shifted to GMCH for treatment.
Similarly, one Arti (18) daughter of Bhushan Lal, resident of Muthi also made a vain attempt on her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence. She was also shifted to hospital for treatment.
In all three cases, the concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
