Social organizations, trade bodies celebrate Independence Day with great enthusiasm

JAMMU, Aug 16: Like other parts of the country, the 70th Independence Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm and charm by various social organizations across Jammu region yesterday.
In connection with celebration of 70th Independence Day a grand function was organised by Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) under the chairmanship of its president, Rakesh Gupta who unfurled the National Tri Colour. This was followed by singing of National Anthem.
In his address Mr Gupta highlighted the achievements made by the country after independence. He appealed the members to be untied and work with dedication, transparency and sincerity to serve the nation and the society.
The senior leaders of CCI were also present in the function.
The Independence Day was also celebrated by Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) with fervor and patriotism at D S S complex Kacchi Chawni here yesterday. On the occasion former Minster and president DSS Gulchain Singh Charak hoisted the National Flag. In his address Mr Charak exhorted the people preserve the values of democracy, brotherhood and communal harmony. He also paid rich homage to lakhs of freedom fighters for their rights for the State of J&K.
The children of Jyoti public School, Dogra Hall Jammu presented the National Anthem.
The Independence Day was celebrated by J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) at ICAI Bhawan Canal Road here yesterday. A grand function as held on the occasion in which senior as well as junior members of ICAI participated.
On this occasion, Chairman of the J&K Branch of ICAI, Ashwani Khajuria along with its Executive Committee members and other members of the Branch unfurled the National Flag. Secretary of the Branch Ajay Gupta, vice chairman, Sudhir Arora, Jatinder Jaswal treasurer and others were present on the occasion.
Ek Sath Rang Mandal presented its 208th Monday Theatre with Vijay Malla Nukkad Yeh Chaman Hamara Apna Hai on the occasion of 70th Independence Day yesterday in collaboration with BLSKS at Kot Bhalwal. It is patriotic play based on responsibilities of youth towards nation. Earlier the flag was hoisted by Mr Malla and other artists of the Rang Mandal.
To commemorate Independence Day, Raman Suri, President, Lakhdata Bazar Businessmen Welfare Association, Jammu hoisted the National Flag at Lakhdata Bazar, Jammu, in presence of MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta and Executive Members and all association members.
In connection with celebration of 70th Independence Day a grant function was organized by Pir Panchal at Sharda Radio 90.4Fm at Buta Nagar yesterday. On the occasion president Pir Panchal and Director Sharda Radio Ramesh Hangloo hoisted the National Flag in presence of renowned artist Bihari Kak, Pir  Panchal office bearers Vijay Kaul and others.
On the occasion of 70th Independence Day a grand function was organized by Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha here yesterday. Speaker of the State Assembly Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. The president of the Sabha Vinod Gupta along with Kavinder Gupta and MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta hoisted the National Flag.
Vinod Gupta recalled the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters, while Kavinder Gupta, highlighted the supreme sacrifices of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and Rajesh Gupta highlighted the significance of the Day.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (Khoo Wali Gali) Sector No 1 Extension celebrated 70th Independence Day yesterday with great pomp and show. The National Flag was hoisted by Nitish Mahajan, Society president along with other members of the society. Sweets were distributed among the school children and cultural programme was also organized by the children. Baldev Sharma, Vinod Mahajan, Amarjet Singh and others attended the function.
The 70th Independence Day was also celebrated by Water Works (PHE) Employees Association at Company Bagh , Dogra Chowk, here with great enthusiasm. On the occasion Shiv Kumar Sharma, the provincial president of the Association unfurled the National flag. The workers, employees and other guests recited the National, Anthem.
The Independence Day was also celebrated by PHE Workers Welfare Association at PHE Sub Division Dounthli yesterday with great enthusiasm and charm. Bakshi Singh provincial president of the Association unfurled the National Flag on the occasion.
Independence Day was  celebrated with great enthusiasm by Balgran a chartable Home for Destitute Children at Channi Rama Jammu. MLC and senior BJP leader Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag. The chief guest also gave merit certificates and gifts to inmates who secured high percentage in 10 th and 8th standard examinations.
The president of Balgran, S N Sharma also spoke on the  occasion.
Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front also celebrated the Independence Day yesterday and held a grand function in the township under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita. On the occasion national flag was hoisted by Mr Pandtia and the gathering sung the national anthem.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) celebrated the Independence Day as Sankalap Diwas. The main function was held at Pacca Danga Chowk where NMC president Subash Shastri unfurled the National Flag who also paid glowing tributes to freedom fighters.
Research Scholars of University of Jammu celebrated the 70th Independence Day at Nehru Hall Boys Hostel University of Jammu. Dr Jaswal Warwal was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag. The function was also attended by Lokinder Singh, ABVP president Jammu University.
Independence Day was celebrated by Sewa Dham Jagti Nagrota with gaiety and fervor. On the occasion National Flag was hoisted by Pardeep and Anjali Radhu. Students of Bal Sanaskar presented beautiful dances on patriotic songs.
On the occasion of independence Day, JK Royal Rider organized  a bullet rally, which was flagged off by Zorawar Singh from Royal Estate towards Chmliyal Baba Ramgarh Border.
Sudhar Sabha Gole (Talab Tillo) also celebrated the 70th Independence Day under the presidentship of Rattan Chand in a different way by asking a differently abled person to hoist the National Flag at Sudhar Sabha Chowk Gole Gujral.
Lower Shiv Nagar & Shanti Nagar Welfare Society also celebrated the 70th Independence Day at Shant Nagar near Ram Sharnam Ashram. All the residents and locals participated in the function.
New Young Blood Organisation (NYBO) also celebrated the 70th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and fervor under the leadership of its chairman Ashok Verma.
The National Flag was hoisted by Mr Verma and CMO GMC, Jammu, Dr Rajinder Thapa. Later they distributed sweets among the children.
Rotary Club Akhnoor celebrated the 70th Independence Day at Shemrock Apple Orchid School Akhnoor. The function was attended by the children and their parents. The Flag was hoisted by president of the Club and Principal of the School.
The Independence Day was also celebrated by Anti Crime a NGO at Bishnah in which MLA Bishnah Kamal Verma was the chief guest while SDM Bishnah Sonu Pargal was the guest of honour. The chairman of the Anti Crime Sham Lal Gupta along with MLA and SDM hoisted the Tricolour.
On the occasion of 70th Independence Day flag hoisting was performed at Main Chowk Kandoli Nagrota under the patronage of social and political worker Ram Rattan Sharma along with ex Naib Tehsildar Shiv Datt Sharma.
The J&K Human Rights Watch celebrated Independence Day at its headquarters. B L Kapoor State chairman JKHRW unfurled the National Flag on the occasion.
In connection with Independence Day celebrations a joint function was organized by Mahasha Sadar Sabha and Guru Nabha Dass Ji Maharaj (Trust) at its Head office Dogra Hall, Jammu. On the occasion the National Flag was hoisted by M D Dardi Chairman Guru Nabha Dass Trust and Dr M L Rao working president All J&K Mahasha Sudhar Sabha.
ASKPC celebrated the Independence Day at ASKPC Bhawan Durga Nagar near here in which besides Executive members local residents also participated.
The National Flag was hoisted by the president of the ASKPC, Advocate Ravinder Raina.
Rattan Lal Pandita president, Sukhraj Bairav Asthapan hoisted the Tri Color in connection with celebration of 70th Independence Day at a function held at Shiv Nagar here.
Indira Housing Colony Welfare Committee Ward 36, 35 and Janipur Shop Owners Association jointly celebrated the Independence Day at Disco More near Dream Land School Janipur.

All J&K Christians Forum celebrated 70th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and fervor today. Markes Gill State president of the Forum was the chief guest on the occasion while Issac Bhatti was the guest of honour who hoisted the National Flag.

Lions Club R S Pura organized flag hoisting ceremony on the occasion of 70th Independence Day at Shaheed Devinder Sharma Memorial R S Pura. SDPO RS Pura, S Harjit Singh, ex Zonal chairman S Jagjit Singh, president of Lions Club Natha Ram and Madan Lal Khanna zonal chairman hoisted the National Flag.
