JAMMU, Mar 10: JK Thinkers Forum organised a meeting of the cross section of KPs here to discuss the situation arising due to stalling of Shrines Bill by some political parties.
The meeting was chaired by Vijay Chiken. The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Pandit Kuldeep Irkum and Com Mohan Lal. The meeting expressed its anguish over the failure of Government in fulfilling its oft repeated promise regarding the passage of Shrines Bill and decried the role of coalition as well as BJP, NPP and JSM in this regard. It said by stalling the Bill coalition played with the sentiments of the Kashmiri Pandits and this way its claim on return of the community to Valley was totally hollow as passage of the Bill would have acted as the main CBM for that.
The meeting however complimented the positive role played by PDP, CPI (M), PDF and others on the Bill.
The meeting decided to carry forward the struggle and extended full support to Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Trust which is spearheading the moment in this regard. However the meeting urged the Trust to widen its ambit and involve all trusts and Mandir committees of Valley in the struggle.
Vijay Bakaya, MLC, Chuni Lal Bhat, general secretary Congress, Kuldeep Raina, president Manzgam Kheeer Bhawani Trust, A K Deewani, a senior KP leader, Dr A N Pandita and H L Bhat of PNBMT, R K Bhat, YAIKS, Aryan Ramesh of AIKS, M K Yogi of NC Migrant Cell, M K Raina president Jawala Ji and others were present.
Meanwhile, AIKS in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of A K Raina its vice president also urged the Government to clarify its stand on the Bill instead of hoodwinking the community.
He said in case the Government is sincere it should bring an ordinance till the Bill is passed by the Assembly. The meeting said the sentiments of the Pandits were hurt by the role of coalition and some political parties.
It said though initiative for the Bill was launched by AIKS earlier but the organizations is fully with PNBMT in its struggle.
