JAMMU, Sept 9: Thieves barged into a house in Indira Colony area of Janipur and decamped with gold and silver ornaments viz cash.
As per police sources, burglars entered into the house of a retired lecturer of Education Department Vinod Gupta at Sector 2, Indira Colony Janipur and decamped with 10 tolas gold ornaments, 30 tolas silver ornaments and Rs 2 lakh cash, when the family members were not at home.

On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and Forensic experts were called for spot verification.
After lodging of a formal complaint, a case under FIR Number 114/19 under section 380 and 457 RPC was registered at Janipur Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the thieves.
When contacted, SHO Janipur Police Station Inspector Naresh Sharma told the Excelsior that several suspects have been detained for questioning and this burglary case will be worked out very shortly.
Meanwhile, Yashpal Sharma, the neighbour of the victim and Corporator Ward Number 35 has expressed concern over the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the thieves.
While talking to media persons, Sharma said that this is for the first time that this kind of theft had taken place in their area. Police should take the matter seriously and arrest the thieves in the shortest possible time, he added.
