KATHUA, Dec 17: A delegation of the residents from Thein village and surrounding areas of Kathua district met the Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Jitender Singh and informed him about the acute scarcity of water in the area due to breakdown of tube well over two months back.
The delegation informed the DC that though the matter was brought in the notice of PHE authorities of the district number of times but no steps were taken to restore the water in the area or maintain the supply through tankers.
Later the delegation also called on AEE, PHE Kathua and urged him to take immediate steps in restoring water supply to the area failing which the people will be forced to come to streets.
