JAMMU, Dec 17: To review the arrangements made by the civil administration for 348th birth anniversary (Prakash Utsav) of 10th Guru of Sikhs Shri Guru Gobind Sahib Ji, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting of senior officers of various departments besides representatives of State Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC).
Divisional Commissioner directed functionaries of different departments to work with synergy and maintain close liaison with each other for smooth celebration of Gurupurab falling on January 7, 2014.
It was informed in the meeting that Nagar Kirtan would be organized on January 4, 2014 which will start at 10 a.m from Gurudwara Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar and pass through Vivekanand Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Hotel Asia, Green Belt Park, Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, Shiva Ji Chowk, Nanak Nagar before culmination at Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar at 5 p.m besides Prabhat Pheries would also be organized from 25th of December, 2013.
The main function will be held at Gurudwara Shri Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar Jammu where large number of devotees will perform prayers followed by Shabad Kirtan and Guru Ka Langer.
The Divisional Commissioner issued specific instructions to Police and Traffic Department to ensure foolproof security besides setting up of specific routes by Traffic Department to regulate the traffic during Nagar Kirtan on January 4th and 7th , 2014.
He directed Municipal authorities to deploy sufficient number of safai karamcharies and arrange dust bins to ensure cleanliness. The PHE and JMC were directed to provide adequate water tankers at the main venue. JMC will also arrange mobile toilet vans near Gurudwara premises Chand Nagar and at other places during Nagar Kirtan.
Fire Services and Health Department were asked to keep stationed fire tenders and ambulances with medicines and doctors at the venue and all prominent places to meet any eventuality.
The meeting was attended by DIG, Jammu-Kathua Range, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, ADC, Jammu, K.S. Parihar, Director Land Management, JDA, Jatinder Singh Joint Director Information, Smita Sethi, S.E, PHE, Sunil Gupta, S.E. R&B, S.P. Manhas, S.P. Traffic, Pawan Parihar, Health Officer Jammu, Dr. Mohd. Saleem Khan, Deputy Director Fire Services, A.K. Wangroo, Gurmukh Singh (RDD) besides President SGPC, S. Dalip Singh and other members of SGPC.
