Theft in Sedhlakshmi temple

JAMMU, Aug 8: Thieves have broken into the famous Sedhlakshmi temple at Rajinder Nagar Circular Road during intervening night of August 7 and 8 near Durga Nagar. The temple is a replica of Sedhlakshmi shrine of Lokbhawan district Anantnag in Kashmir Valley which was inaugurated last year.
This was stated by Prabandhak Committee of the Sedhlakshmi Peeth Tirathraj Lokbhawan, Chairman, P N Raina in a statement issued here today. He said the thieves decamped with cash offerings from Garbhgreh after breaking its front glass and from donation box which was lying open on rear side of the Parikrama. The thieves have also broken the locks of iron grill, main door and front door of Garbhgreh besides damaging both the doors and ransacking the temple.
He said a team of Police Post Chinore also visited the temple after the Committee lodged a complaint there. The Committee has expressed its grave concern over the theft and ransacking of temple and demanded immediate arrest of burglars.
