JAMMU, June 9: Police in Jammu’s Bishnah Area claimed today that they have solved a theft case within 24 hours of commission of the crime.
A police spokesperson said that on June 8, a written complaint was lodged by one Krishna Devi wife of Chaman Lal of Bishnah, stating therein that on the intervening nights of June 7-8, 2023, some unknown people decamped with a motor wire (cable) from her fields at Jinder Khurd area of the town.
On receiving the complaint, he said, a case FIR number 138/2023 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation, he further said that a team of Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Bishnah Vikram Sharma under the guidance of SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli swung into action and collaborating with the technical and human intelligence, raided different places, and finally apprehended the accused Puran Chand of Prithipur, Bishnah.
“On his (accused) disclosure, the stolen item was recovered,” said the police spokesperson, adding that further investigation is on.
