Theft case solved within 12 hours

KATRA, Apr 12: Police claimed to have solved a theft case at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan within 12 hours of its reporting and apprehending the accused along with recovery of stolen property.
A complaint regarding theft of valuable articles worth approximately Rs 2.20 lakh was received at Police Station Bhawan. Acting swiftly, SHO Bhawan, Inspector Parmodh Singh Bajju, immediately launched a focused investigation. Through CCTV and technical analysis, the team intercepted and arrested the accused.
The accused has been identified as Sajjan Singh, son of Savinder Singh, resident of Guru Ramdass Nagar, Tajpur Road, Ludhiana. The entire stolen property was successfully recovered from his possession.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Dy SP Bhawan, Mahesh Sharma. The accused is currently in police custody and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, in a separate action, FIR No. 108/2026 under Section 223(a) was registered at Police Station Katra against a pony handler, namely Kaka Singh, son of Kewal Singh, resident of Kakra, Tehsil Thakrakote, District Reasi, for operating without a valid registration card. Further legal action has been initiated in the matter.
