RAJOURI, Apr 12: At least six persons were injured after a Tempo, bearing registration number JK11-4888 met with an accident in Narla area of Khawas Tehsil in Rajouri district today evening.
Reports said that the mishap took place when the vehicle was on its way from Taryath towards Narla village in Khawas. The driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle near Kotecharwal village following a collision with a Tata Mobile (No. JK11H-0335), coming from the opposite direction. With its impact, the Tempo skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
As many as six persons sustained injuries in the incident. They were rescued and shifted to Taryath hospital by the locals and police.
The injured have been identified as Rakiya Begum, wife of Shakoor Ahmed; Arshad Begum, wife of Mohd Sadiq; Rakiya Begum-II, wife of Shokit); Shakeela Begum, wife of Sadam Hussain; Wazira Begum, wife of Ashfaq- all residents of Kotecharwal and Ruksana, wife of Mohd Shakeel, a resident of Narla.
Earlier reports indicated that among the injured, Shakeela Begum (30) and Rubiya Kousar (25) were in critical condition. Rubiya was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu for specialized treatment. Police have taken cognizance of the incident.
