JAMMU, Apr 12: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit president, Manish Sahni flayed the decision of granting Ladakh a separate identity in Aadhaar records and termed it a conspiracy to detach Ladakh from J&K.
In a press conference here today, Sahni said that stripping the region of its Statehood and special status was the beginning and now the Central Government is attempting to divide people’s hearts through administrative lines on paper.
“Relationship between J&K and Ladakh is not merely geographical but rooted in centuries-old shared culture, trade and brotherhood and no authority can erase this bond through arbitrary decisions,” he maintained.
The Shiv Sena leader demanded immediate restoration of full Statehood to J&K and also called for the implementation of special constitutional provisions under Article 371 to safeguard cultural identity, land and employment rights of the local population.
Sanjay Bhatt, general secretary (Org) and Aditya Mahajan, vice president were also present in the press conference.
