REASI, May 20: Police stated to have solved a theft case and recovered stolen property worth Rs 1.5 lakh after arresting the thief.
This theft had taken place at NS Associates Construction Company at Gran Morh Reasi and a case FIR number 115/2022, under section 379 IPC was registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi.
Police teams scanned CCTV footage from the area and rounded up some suspects. During investigations, one suspect, namely Maqbool Ahmed , son of Alam Din of Tronth, Gran Morh Reasi, confessed that he had committed the theft.
On his disclosure, 38 bags of Steel fibre of 25 kg each with total weight of 950 Kg, 8 MS Pipes and 5 shuttering plates worth Rs 1.5 lakh were recovered.
One vehicle Mahindra Pickup, bearing number JK21A- 4076, which was used in ferrying of stolen construction materials, was also recovered from possession of the accused.
While sharing this information, SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta said that further investigations to unearth linkage of the accused with other theft cases were going on and more arrests and recoveries are not ruled out in the case.
