18 bovine animals rescued, 3 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, May 20: Foiling two separate attempts of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police today rescued 18 bovines and arrested three smugglers.
According to the reports, a police party of PP Roun Domail established a naka at Roun Domail and intercepted a Truck bearing registration number JK21C-7214, which was coming from Manwal side.
During checking , 14 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck without any valid permission. Police rescued the bovines and arrested driver of the truck, identified as Isaq, son of Ashraf of Sail Kouri Ber, Majalta Udhampur.
In this regard, case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation set into motion.
Similarly, Police team, led by SHO Rehambal, Inspr Rajesh Sharma, under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters Sahil Mahajan, seized a vehicle carrying four bovines.
Police rescued the bovine animals and arrested two smugglers, identified as Mohd Irfan, son of Idrees Ahmed of Ramban and Mohd Sardar, son of Mohd Jaleel of Ramban. A case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar.
