JAMMU, Sept 4: To mark the birth anniversary of Former President and noted academician Dr Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan, various educational institutions celebrated Teachers’ Day.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Government Degree College Dharmari. College Principal TR Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking threw light on life history of Dr S Radha Krishnan. A symposium was held on the topic the role of teacher in nation building, in which Yasser Hamid secured first position, Imtiyaz Ahmed and Mohammad Farooq shared second position and Shazia Kouser bagged third position.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in DPS Jammu by staff and students. The function was presided over by Ritu Singh, PVC DPS Jammu and SS Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu. Floral tributes were offered to the great visionary Dr Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan by Ritu Singh, SS Sodhi, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra and other dignitaries. Students presented cultural items dedicated to their teachers. The students of class XI and XII dressed in formals assumed the role of teachers and conducted classes as a faculty. Deputy Headmaster Ravi Kotroo, Headmistress Meenu Gupta and many others were present on the occasion.
RM Public School celebrated Teachers’ Day. Raman Bhalla, Former Minister, ID Soni and Natre Prakash, Ex-incharge of Shiksha Niketan Jeevan Nagar attended the function as special guests. Chairman of RM Public School Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee Rita Mengi and Principal Ravinder Kour were also present on the occasion. The theme of the Teachers’ Day celebrations was “Teachers are the Nation Builders”, wherein students presented various cultural programmes. The gifts and cheques were distributed among the staff members and other dignitaries of the school as a token of love and respect.
