JAMMU, Sept 4: Akhnoor police under ‘Operation Amrit’ arrested a man and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Akhnoor Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a man, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 21 small bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Ram Saran, a resident of Gurha Brahmana, Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
He was carrying the illicit liquor bottles to his native village for selling among the masses to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 184/18 under Section 48-F Excise Act has been registered at Akhnoor Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Shiv Dev Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
