Teachers continue chain hunger strike for 7th Pay Commission

JAMMU, Sept 12: As the ongoing indefinite chain hunger strike by Teachers Joint Action Committee for implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA/RMSA teachers entered into 14th consecutive day today fresh batch of TJAC volunteers sat for 24-hour fast, this morning.
Ten members of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, a constituent of Teachers Joint Action Committee, began their fast in support of the demands of implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA/RMSA teachers and de-linking their salary from Central to State Budget.
The fasting teachers from Kathua and Udhampur districts, who sat on hunger strike today, included Subash Sharma (Distt president JKTF- Kathua), Shashi Pal Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Jatinder Bhushan, Pawan Kumar, Sanjay Sharma (Vice president JKTF- Udhampur), Rakesh Gupta, Satvir Singh, Sansar Singh and Joginder Singh.
Those who spoke on the occasion, included Gopal Singh; S Soorat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, S Ravinder Singh, Shankar Singh, Subash Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Rakesh Gupta, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Shashi Pal, Sushil Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Dharam Pal, Rajnesh Raina, Radha Sharma, Poonam Gupta, Gurnam Singh, Manohar Lal, Sanjeev Sharma and others.
Meanwhile, the chain hunger strike of JKRET Teachers Forum (Bhupinder Singh group) at district headquarters of Jammu division for the same demands, entered into second consecutive day on Wednesday.
In District Udhampur, District vice president Sumit Khajuria, Surinder Khajuria, Surjeet Singh, Randip Singh, Mohd Abbas, Sanjay Sharma, Parkash Singh, Satpaul, Parkash Chand and Sabash Singh sat on 24hours hunger strike while at Reasi, District president Reasi Bhadur Singh, Bharat Singh, Azaz Ahmed Rizvi, Rajesh Thakur, Khzoor Singh, Retika Singh, Babli Devi, Rattan Lal and Radhika Sharma began their fast this morning for the next 24hours.
District President Kishtwar Mohd Hafeez, Musharf Shbir, Mazid Hussain, Sohail Rehmaan, Zakir Hussain, Rakesh Kumar, Firdous Ahmed, Amzad Hussain and Abdul Qayoom sat on hunger strike at Mini Secretariat DC office Kishtwar while in district Ramban, District president Ramban Farooq Runyal, State Advisor Mushtaq Malik, Sr vice president Tirth Singh, Seva Singh Sumberia, Maroof Gani, Haffeez Ur Rehmaan, Surinder Singh, Zahir Ahmed Sohail, Bahar Mir, Firdous Katoach and Vikram Singh sat on hunger strike.
