JAMMU, Sept 12: In a function organized at Krishi Bhawan here today homage was paid to Shri Bawa Jitto (Baba Jit Mal Dev Ji Maharaj) – a legendary saint farmer of the area who made his supreme sacrifice about 650 years back for getting justice for the farmers.
The function was organized on the occasion of installation of new portrait of Shri Baba Jitto in recently renovated Temple dedicated to him.
The programme was organized jointly by the Agriculture Officers Association, All J & K Agriculture Employees Association, Drivers Union and staff of the Directorate of Agriculture.
Speaking on the occasion Director Agriculture Jammu, H.K Razdan lauded and recalled supreme sacrifice of Baba Jitto Ji for the farming community.
He said that Bawa Jitto will always be remembered as a messenger of honesty and truthfulness.
A special adoration and worship was performed on the occasion which was followed by distribution of prasad.
Bulesh Zutshi, Joint Director of Agriculture (SLUB), K.S Sambyal, Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), Jagmohan Bhat, Incharge Deputy Director (Central), Sunil Koul, Deputy Director (Trainings) and a large number of other officers and officials of the department also attended the programme.
