Tariq Khan’s Lihaaf screened in 25th Film Festival

JAMMU, Nov 14: Tariq Khan’s Fim Lihaaf has been selected and screened at 25th International Film Festival Kolkata which started on November 8 and will culminate tomorrow.
Tariq Khan a son of the soil who belongs to Poonch in Jammu region and presently puts up in Mumbai has achieved a great position as a film maker. The festival was attended by great film personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Mahesh Bhatt, Gulzar and others.
The Lihaaf movie has already been screened in different international film festivals around the world and has registered fame among film critics. The film is based on famous short story written by great Indian short story writer Ismat Chughtaee. Tariq Khan is the producer of the film while Rahat Kazmi has directed the movie in association with other crew of the region. Both Tariq Khan and Rahat Kazmi are well known in their fields of film making particularly in festival film segment.
This festival has received 2500 entries from 76 countries which consist of 214 feature films, 152 short films and documentaries.
Lihaaf will be shown in Indian Film Language category for which Roya Sadat, Ajja Husain and Jeffrey Jeturian are jury members. Star Cast of Lihaaf along with director and producer attended the festival. Those who associated with Director and producer in making the film included Zeba Sajad, Namita Lal, Ashish Wagh, Umesh, Shkula. It is co produced by Shukala winner Marc Baschet.
Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sonal Sehgal and Anshkka Sen are in lead roles while Shoiab Nakash and Mir Sarwar are seen parallel lead.
