SRINAGAR, May 24: National Conference chief spokesperson and Zadibal MLA Tanvir Sadiq on Sunday released the first installment of Constituency Development Funds (CDF) worth Rs 3.45 crore for various developmental works across the Zadibal constituency after holding extensive meetings in different halqas to assess public priorities and local requirements.
The funds have been allocated for the development and upgradation of parks, sports facilities, libraries, bus stops, culverts, transformers, roads, drains, beautification projects and landmark calligraphic gates in different parts of the constituency.
Speaking during a public interaction in Rainawari, Tanvir said the purpose of conducting grassroots-level meetings was to directly interact with people and ensure that development works are undertaken according to the actual needs of residents. He said the exercise helped identify genuine concerns and prioritize projects accordingly.
The MLA urged people to actively monitor the quality of works being executed in their localities and immediately report any shortcomings or irregularities so that timely corrective measures can be taken. He reiterated his commitment to transforming Zadibal into one of the most developed constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting key ongoing projects, Tanvir said iconic calligraphic gates are under construction at several important locations including Hazratbal Dargah, Alamgiri Bazar, Rainawari Chowk and other areas. He added that major sports infrastructure projects at GHSS Shri Bhat, Soura and Boys School are expected to be completed during the current year.
He further announced that the long-pending Public Health Engineering Centre at Zadibal is in its final stage and its foundation stone will be laid shortly. Sports grounds at Lal Bazar, Mir Behri, Waris Khan, Botachawni and Anar Bagh will also be developed this year.
Tanvir said community halls at Jogi Lanker and Bagwanpora are already under progress, while new halls at Gulshan Bagh and Kokerbagh will be taken up soon. He also announced renovation of Shikara ghats, acceleration of drainage projects in Vicharnag and progress on major road widening works in several areas of the constituency.
