Taing inaugurates painting exhibition by OP Sharma

Deputy Chairman Legislative Council M Y Taing inaugurating painting exhibition at Kala Kendra on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Mar 13: Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council, M Y Taing today inaugurated a  painting exhibition by O P Sharma a renowned painter and lens man at Kala Kendra. Triloke Kaul, veteran painter presided over the function and Lalit Sharma, Chief Conservator of Forests was the guest of honour on the occasion .
Among others N D Sharma, Prof Rita Jitender, Saleem Beig,  I U Khan, Director FSL, N D Jamwal, Soujanya Sharma, Director Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society, Raj Bharat and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Mr. Taing appreciated Mr Sharma’s artistic endeavors and his contributions in the field  of photography . He said that such exhibition give ample opportunities to an artist to showcase   his talent and promotion of art in the society. He added that such creative activities need encouragement by art lovers and  masses.
The work put on display are painted  in acrylic medium on different hues of natural beauty. Mr Sharma has generally painted wide landscape in isolation showing his love towards open space and natural beauty.
Mr Sharma presently working as Director J&K Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu has been actively associated with various activities for promoting art and with organizational work also. He has received various prestigious awards for his photography and paintings.
The exhibition will remain open upto March 15, 2013 between 11 a m to 6 p m .
