JAMMU, Mar 13 : The camp for the process of issuing NPR Smart Card was organized by Directorate of Census operations Jammu and Kashmir and district administration, Samba in collaboration with Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) and Comtech Info solutions Pvt.Ltd J&K in Bari Brahmana Municipal Committee (Samba District) at Govt. Middle School, Dollian.
The process involved capturing of photographs of usual residents; ten finger prints and iris scan (eye capture).
The camp was inaugurated by Director of Census Operations J&K, R.K Bhagat. The other officers present on the occasion include B.S Jamwal Additional Deputy commissioner, samba, R.K Gupta, State Coordinator ECIL, V. K Moza District In-charge samba (Census Operation J&K), Kamal Chalotra, Executive Officer Bari Brahmana, Waheed Khan State Nodal Officer, Enrolment Agency and Sanjeev Rajput, District Administrator, Enrolment Agency. The Director of Census Operations highlighted the objectives of NPR Smart Card and said that this will create a comprehensive identity data base in the country with full identification and other details by registering each usual resident in the country; helping better targeting of the benefits and services under various Government schemes / Progr-ammes ; improve planning and development.
A large number of persons earlier enlisted in National Population Register Household Schedule turned up enthusiastically and seeing the response from the public, it is expected that Biometric Process in Bari Brahmana Municipal Committee would be completed with in stipulated time.
