Suspended Guj IAS officer seeks trasfer of cases to CBI

NEW DELHI, Nov 23:
Suspended Gujarat IAS officer Pradeep  Sharma today filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking  transfer of investigation in five cases from Gujarat police  to the CBI.
Mr Sharma, in his application, has claimed that it was he who  had introduced the girl figuring in the snooping scandal to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2004.
According to him, the girl, an architect, was hired for a beautification project in 2005.
He has further claimed that the girl was in constant  touch with Mr Modi for several years. The Chief Minister has control over the state police.
Mr Sharma has alleged that he was being targeted by the Modi government as he knew everything about snooping episode.
Mr Sharma is a younger brother of an IPS officer of Gujarat Kuldeep Sharma, who is also under the scanner of the state  police.
He is seeking the transfer of investigation of five cases registered against him by Gujarat police on the grounds that  free and fair probe is not possible in the state.
He is facing allegations of illegal allotment of land  during his tenure as District Collector of Kutch. (UNI)
