POONCH, Nov 23: One person was killed while two others injured in a car accident in Surankote area of district Poonch late this evening.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 7.15 pm when a Indica car No. JK02AH/5868 was on way to Poonch from Rajouri. As the ill-fated vehicle reached near Painch village about 9 kms short of Poonch, the driver lost control and the vehicle landed into a gorge.
While Kuldip Raj Sharma, son of Jia Lal Sharma, resident of Jawahar Nagar Rajouri was killed on the spot, his wife Prem Lata and their relative, Mukesh Kumar were seriously injured. They were rushed to Poonch Hospital. The body was also removed to district hospital for postmortem.
The police said that Kuldip Sharma was posted as Superintendant in ITI Kalakote. The couple was going to Poonch to meet their relatives at Poonch. They left their residence at Jawahar Nagar Rajouri at around 4.30 pm.
