SAMBA, May 10: A rare feat has been achieved by the students of Mechanical Department of Bhargava College of Engineering and Technology Supwal, Samba by developing an innovative (E) electric bike named as Cafe E Bike at Samba here, today.
According to the report, the Chairman of the College, Ex MLA, Om Prakash Sharma, Managing Director, Sanjeev Sharma and Director Prof. M.S. Baloria congratulated the students and the teachers involved in the project. The idea was conceived by Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Lucky Sambyal of 8th Semester of Mechanical Department and a junior student Rizwan Ul Islam of 4th semester under the guidance and supervision of HoD Mechanical Er Umesh Jamwal and P.D. Sharma Workshop In charge.
The students said it took three months to them to complete the project and the design of the bike is totally different from other bikes. The old bikes can be developed to give them a new lease of life by converting it into Cafe E- Bike. The E- Bike so developed is both noise and air pollution free. The bike covers the distance of around 40 Kms. on charged battery of 48 volt 07 ampere, they added.
The Cafe E- Bike has been highly appreciated by the Management, staff and people from the Industry in the area who were called for the demo of the bike.
