RAJOURI, Apr 19: In a rare and tragic incident, some stray dogs killed at least 15 sheep and goats and left about ten others injured at Sarola village, located in Manjakote Tehsil of district Rajouri last night.
Reports said a pack of stray dogs, attacked a farmer’s livestock herd at around 2:00 AM at Sarola village. The dogs entered the enclosure belonging to Zaffar Iqbal-a resident of Sarola village-and attacked his sheep and goats.
In this attack, at least 15 sheep and goats died on the spot, while 10 sustained critical injuries, while five were said to be missing.
The affected family has suffered a severe financial loss as a result of this incident. Zaffar Iqbal, has appealed to the administration for appropriate compensation. He has urged the authorities to take strict measures to curb the growing menace of stray dogs in the area.
