Jammu, Mar 10: With an aim to generate awareness against drug abuse and to make society aware about ill effects of this evil, today District Police Doda organized a theater show on drug abuse and communal harmony through Natrang at Community Hall Doda.
Large number of students from Colleges and Schools i.e. Degree College Doda, Hr Secondary School Doda, Green Modal Hr Sec. School Doda, Shaheen Public School Doda and Chenab Valley Hr Sec. School Doda, besides social activists participated in the programme and large number of civil society members also witnessed the event.
Audience were made aware about the ill effects of drug abuse. The youth were also appealed to become brand ambassadors against drug abuse in society and symbol of communal harmony.
Vikas Sharma, DC Doda was the chief guest on this occasion. He appealed the youth to refrain from drug menace, which has eaten-up the vitals of the society. He appreciated the role of Police for organizing such events.
This will also help in improving the relations between Police and Public. He lauded the performance of the artists in the event and conveyed that the message flashed by the artists should be sent to every nook and corner to eradicate this menace from the society.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom was the guest of honor on this occasion and while addressing the gathering, SSP Doda made it clear that strict action shall be taken against the drug peddlers involved in the drug menace. He also requested the gathering present on the occasion for maintaining communal harmony in the district.
People hailed the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police in organizing such events and were mesmerized with the performance of the artists of Natrang Theatre Group. Artists of Natrang Theatre Group were felicitated with mementoes by the dignitaries.
Among other officers present on the occasion were ASP Hqrs Doda Master Popsy, DySP DAR Doda Shoket Ali and SHO PS Doda Arun Sharma.
