SS demands restoration of water supply to Pochhal village

KISHTWAR, May 23: Village Pochhal of tehsil and district Kishtwar has been deprived of the basic facility of drinking water and the villagers are continuously facing an acute shortage of water since years together said Tilak Raj Shan, president Shiv Sena of erstwhile Doda district.
He said the matter was brought into the notice of the Chief Engineer , Executive Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer and Junior Engineer PHE concerned several times by various social and political organisations but it is a matter of great concern that the department didn’t pay any heed to their repeated request.
Shan said that the villagers are supplied drinking water once a week as a result of which the residents have been forced to fetch drinking water from a long distance and there is no connectivity of supply of drinking water with the existing reservoir neither the villagers are supplied portable drinking water.
Shan said that the PHE Department has spent crores of rupees over the execution of Naigadh water supply scheme but the villagers are still suffering for want of drinking water.
He has urged the Lt. Governor to immediately look into the matter so that the villagers may not suffer any longer.
