Speaker inaugurates additional block of CHC

SRINAGAR, Sept 26: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone today inaugurated Additional Block of Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin completed at a cost of Rs. 1.56 crore. He also took stock the pace of ongoing work of 50 bed hospital coming up at a cost of Rs. 18.17 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lone said that 50,000 souls of Shahgund, Kathpora, Vijpora, Prang, Madwan, Mukhdamyari, Hakhbara, Chindergeer, Saderkote and Sadhnar villages will get better medicare facilities with the completion of centre. He said that the additional block has facilities of dispensary cum store, minor D.T, dressing, injection, ladies ward, labour room, gents ward, nurses room, lab., waiting, medical OPD room, immunization and counseling.
Mr. Lone said that the Government under leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to provide better medicare facilities to the people of the State especially in far flung areas, adding that liberal funding is being sanctioned under health sector and thrust is being laid to upgrade the basic infrastructure of all health institutions of the State.
Responding to the demand put forth by the hospital management with regard to the posting of Gynecologist, Mr. Lone assured them that the matter will be taken up with the concerned on priority.
At Hajin, the Speaker was informed that Rs.4.75 crore have been spent on 50 bedded hospital so far out of an estimated cost of Rs.18.17 crore and ground floor will be completed by the end of March next year.
Earlier, the Speaker inspected the execution of upgradation work of 10.6 kms length of Hajin-Shahgund Gundi Jehangir road costing to Rs. 8.01 crore. Mr. Lone directed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing developmental projects under execution in the Sumbal Sonawari Constituency and complete them in a stipulated time frame for providing benefit to the people at gross root level.
District Development Commissioner, Bandipora Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Superintendent of Police, Bandipora B. A. Khan, Ex-MLA Ghulam Rasool Naaz and other officers and engineers from various departments accompanied the Speaker during his visit.
