Sham pays surprise visit to health institutions

SRINAGAR, Sept 26: As a part of continued efforts of the Government to provide better health care facilities to common people, especially living in far flung and remote areas of the State, the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma paid a surprise visit to seven health institutions including Government Primary Health Centres of   Srigufwara and  Salar, DOT Centre Yenned, Government Civil Hospital Pahalgam, Government Primary Health Centre, Ashmuqam, Sub-District Hospital Seer Hamdan, Govt. Primary Health Centre, Mattan.
The Minister was accompanied by MLAs of Pahalgam and Shangus constituencies, Rafiq Ahmed Mir and Peer Mansoor Ahmed.
During surprise visit to Govt. Hospital Srigufwara, he inspected some wards including OPD, Labour Room and directed the authorities to complete the construction of Community Health Centre as early as possible and make the centre functional immediately.
The Minister also inspected many wards during visit to Govt. Primary Health Centre, Salar including cold Chain Maintenance Room, Ophthalmic section and Labour Room. The Minister also interacted with some locals including Panchs and Sarpanchs.
Mr. Sham also inspected DOT Centre Yanned and inspected the medical facilities being provided at Govt. Civil Hospital Pahalgam.
The Minister also reviewed the medical facilities being provided at Govt. Primary Hospital Aashmuqam and directed the Executive Engineer, R&B for construction of approach road to hospital, so that the patients may not suffer during the winter. The Minister announced Rs 22 lakh for equipping the Labour Room and X-Ray plant.
Mr. Sham Lal also took a round of Sub-District Seer hospital Hamadan and inspected the Medicare facilities being provided to the patients.
Later, the Minister also visited Floriculture Park Pahalgam and directed the Director Floriculture Department to take further steps for developing the park on modern lines with construction of view points and open air theatre.
Mr. Sham Lal said that well flourished parks and gardens not only adds grace in the natural beauty of the Valley but the fragrance of the flowers of these parks and gardens attract the tourists not only locally but also on national and international level in abundance.
Later, the Minister chaired a review meeting of the Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Departments Achhabal Guest House Complex along with accompanied MLA’s, DC, Anantnag and HoD’s.
The Minister was accompanied by Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr.Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director NRHM, J&K, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director Floriculture, Misri, Drugs Controller, Satish Gupta, Director Family Welfare, Dr.T.K. Moza, Director ISM, J&K, Dr. Kabir, Project Director AIDS Dr. Khajuria and Director Horticulture and other district officers.
